Tank Top Nitori Game

Plays as Nitori, a kappa engineer wearing a Tank... on her top. No story, just dumb gameplay where you get to shoot things for no real reason. Plenty of war crimes to be committed!

UPDATE V2.0 (31 September 2023):

It is now possible to shoot with left-click mouse button. 

Added a new control system in the Main Menu in V2.0 and its default called Standard. WASD now moves up/left/down/right(based on screen), however since most levels are not designed with the intent, there could be some confusion, but do give it a try ~

(also an issue with the new control system is crow tengu orbs no longer knock you back properly. but probably not a big issue)

anyway, do let me know in the comments if there's any issues with the new controls. I'm not sure if i can improve it further but with feedback i can try hmm

Okay yeah this game is good

Controls are simple and there's a slight difficulty to master in movement and predicting where your bullets will land

I love that spamability is a tradeoff for short range, so that it's not overpowered.

Really fun game!!

The only problem I encountered is I think that when fighting Hina, she stepped on a landmine as i was spam shooting her and that caused my entire pc to crash


Truly, Hina is too powerful

Finished this game and i like it, some stages were strategic other spamming missiles.

And the final boss caught me off guard... Nice reference

aye spam works xD (most stages may suck without spamming hue. Only in some cases long shot is better, like on enemies that don't move)

it was so cool i couldn't resist adding it haha ~ (only regret is not making it playable)

Just finished playing this banger of a game :speaking_head: :fire: :fire: it was really fun and I enjoyed the pac man level a lot.  I played the v2.0 patch and the controls feel perfect, the only thing that slightly bothered me was the camera. Fun game and looking forward to where you want to take it. 

aye the maps and camera was not designed with the new controls in mind since the old controls was the intent, i think new controls also made some stages difficult to move around like the 15 - donkey kong inspired one haha ~

but i'm glad the new control's working out at least huhu ~

(probably won't be making a sequel til at least a very long time, but i have some ideas. Like more playable characters, abilities players can use, more war crimes(flamethrower) >:DDDD, scrapped ideas like ninja tengu, laser yamawaro, improved allies for no friendly fire, probably procedural levels cuz this project took me forever and it gives more replayability.) dont count on a sequel though haha

I haven't finished the game, but I have 2 things to say about the game:
1. I absolutely adore this game! The graphics are silly and cute, the music is pretty neat, not to mention how fun it to just shoot down tengu (in non-violent way) as Tanktori... That said
2. The only problem I have with this game is the controls... Specifically, the movement. It was an awful idea to make movement dependent on Nitori's rotation. When you press W, you'd expect your character to move upward relative to the screen, rather than forward relative to the character. The way it works now would make sense in a first person shooter game, but this is a top-down shooter. Rotation of the character constantly changes depending on mouse position, which makes movement rather awkward.

Other than that, I can admire the work put into this game, the final project ended up pretty damn good! (Except, again, controls) Looking forward to see other projects from you!

aye, seems controls are the common feedback here, more people struggle with it than expected. Certainly won't be using this kinda controls again huhu. Personally, the W/S movements made sense to me, (it was originally from the Unity Tanks! game haha) and the A/D controls was originally the aim/turn controls, which i repurposed to a sidewalk (which yeah, i'd think this is the more confusing part even for players who get used to the W/S movement)

in the unlikely event where this ever gets a sequel, i'll probably make the controls to be more like Boom Beach Frontlines, which works exactly as you suggested, a separate movement control and an aim and shoot control. (sadly, that game was shut down)

I've now completed the rest of the game with new controls and I must say, the game is really fun!

I did find out that you have basically no cooldown, so you can just spam bullets, which trivialized some levels, but there's still been enough challenge to keep myself playing.

My personal favorite level must be Tower Offence, it requires a lot of strategy AND skill to beat it. The final boss was pretty silly and fun to battle, even if it wasn't a particularly difficult fight.

Good job on bringing such a great experience to the world!

yea the final boss, once you know the patterns, its easy to dodge and spam bullets. I made sure health was high enough so the fight wouldnt finish too quickly, but not feel too long and repetitive.

Tower Offense was also one of my favourites, always wanted to play those reverse tower defenses haha ~

I just finished the game, the controls are awkward, it's hard to dodge any bullet and most of the time you will die because of that, if we want to ignore this problem it's still a lot of fun. This game is more strategic that it actually looks, your allies are really helpful and ignoring them will only make the game harder, worst mistake of my life. Overall it's a 7/10.

aye, the left and right controls are based around the cursor which makes it awkward hm. I'll have to figure out better movement controls if i make something similar in the future.
